3 Amazing Months of Understanding my Own Mind
26 years old, Mr. A was initially a participant in one of our Group Programs where he was introduced to Yoga & Ayurveda. During his first consultation, he did not mention anything about how he felt mentally. He would just discuss about how low he felt throughout the day and how even after completing 8-10 hours of sleep, he did not feel fresh and energetic. All his other symptoms looked fine and there were no major physical manifestations also. But we knew he needed focussed attention and time to open and to prevent any major illness from surfacing.
So, as per our suggestion he took up the 3-months Therapy Program with us. He slowly unveiled his mental states with us and we got to understand him better. Earlier it was only low energy and high Business Stress that he mentioned, knowing little about how experiences from the past can have impressions on our Mind. His experiences of Domestic Violence, family politics, and weak relations were all a part of his mental space. He had already taken up treatment for Depressive disorder a year back, which helped him during the period of intense stress but he needed something more permanent and sustainable. He ate and slept well, but did not have the energy to take up his daily tasks. During periods of intense stress, he would often vomit and then remain in that mental state for days. He was unable to perform well in his business due to lack of focus, low confidence, and indecisiveness. His episodes of sudden Anger Outbursts were a major reason of his worry. He seemed to have lost control over his senses and mind during such incidents. Overall, his life was totally sedentary both at work and home. Even with all his will and determination, he was unable to bring any change in his routine and behaviour.
Looking at all of this, and finding out his Prakriti to be Kapha-Dominant we began our Analysis. His Doshic Vikriti was found to be Vata-Kapha dominant with Dominance of Tamas Guna at the Manomaya Kosha Level. Since he was a curious learner and a patient listener, Counselling session, specifically based on PYS and Bhagavat Gita were also made a part of the Program. Hence, the Focus of the Program design was on these 4 parameters:
Increased energy levels (increasing Rajas Guna through Asanas & Kriyas, Dincharya Practices) Stress Management for the Mental Body (Pranayama, Dincharya Practices, Ayurvedic Meds) Anger Management (Yogic Counselling, inc. Sattva Guna through Food), and Improved Focus, hunger and Immunity (Dharna, Ayurvedic Diet and Meds.)
His verbatim after 2 months into the Program,” I can observe that almost 90% of my symptoms are gone. I still have episodes of Anger and emotional outbursts. But I feel there is so much more to health than what I know. And hence I am so excited for the 3rd month.”
After he finished 3months with us, his happy lines were, “I can't believe how quickly the past three months flew by. It was an amazing journey, and I definitely want to continue the sessions and practice under your guidance. Lots and lots of gratitude to you and the team ✨😇
